7 THINGS YOU SHOULD WRITE IN A LUXURY WEDDING CARD

Your wedding invitation card is a way of telling people you value that you want to share the happiest moment of your life with them. It, therefore, is not something you should rush over.

7 Things You Should Write in A Luxury Wedding Card

A recurrent wedding planning mistake is not putting the relevant information on your wedding invitation. The etiquette rules for writing a luxury wedding card are simple. Here’s a quick guide to the key elements you need to feature on your invitation card:

1.Choose Your Style

Before picking your wording, it is vital to know what writing style is appropriate for your invitation cards. Luxurious weddings call for a high degree of sophistication and glamour. Your wordings and choice of stationery should reflect that as it will set the tone for your guest. If you are stuck, your wedding planner can help you with that.

2.Who Is Hosting?

Traditionally, it was the bride’s parents who hosted and paid for the wedding. As such, their names are written at the top of the card. Whether or not you chose to follow this traditional route is up to you.

If you and your partner are paying for the wedding, you can ditch traditions and have both names on the card. For a touch of sophistication, consider using the medieval introductory format:

Mary Mele, daughter of John and Jane Mele

And

Peter Parks, son of George and Lucinda Parks

3.The Request to Attend

For a luxury wedding card, stick to a formal or classy request for the pleasure of your guests’ company. Wordings like “request the honor of your presence” or “request the pleasure of your company” are perfect.

4.The Couple’s Names

If your names do not already feature on the host line, they set them at the center of the page in an ornate design. Remember, this is your day to shine.

5.Guests’ Names

Adding a personal touch to your wedding invitation will not only make it more personal but equally more sophisticated. You can handwrite your guests’ names on the invitation card if you have beautiful handwriting that won’t offset the card’s design. If not, hire a custom calligraphy service to do it for you. That will scream luxury. Make sure you use the proper titles when addressing the cards.

6.Let your guest know what to expect.

Your guests need to be clear about what it is you are inviting them. Are you planning a traditional all-white wedding or a grand beachfront destination wedding? Whatever it is, make sure it gives them a mouth-watering teaser. You do not want to take away the wow factor.

7.Essential Information

Include details on the venue, date, time, and, if required, dress code. Again, opt for a formal and classy format with no roman numerals.  Whether to add this information directly to the card on print them out on separate cards is up to you. Outline how the events will follow each other. In case the ceremony and reception are at the same please make sure to indicate on the invitation card.

Now that you have figured out what needs to go on your luxury invitation card, it is time to get started with the actual design. Make sure you start working on your invitations at least six months before your special day to make room for unforeseen circumstances.
