Weddings are exciting and fun for your family and friends, especially when they get to reconnect with old colleagues, relatives, and friends. Besides, many can’t wait to spend the whole day with their favorite people.

At times, you give an invitation to someone who knows just you and perhaps is the only person within his or her group of friends to be invited. This can be uncomfortable for them. Being on the same table with a group of people who are not familiar with each other can be awkward. However, it doesn’t have to be that way.

Now the big question: What’s the right way to seat your wedding guests at a single stable?

Our tips will help you create a seating plan that will be convenient for everyone.

Talk with Your Guests Ahead of Time

Weddings can be mind-numbing when you do not know anyone. So, it essential you talk with your single guest before the D-day. Bear in mind that not everyone likes the idea to be set up simply because they are planning to come alone. Ensure they are okay to sit on a table with people they do not know. You wouldn’t want to put much pressure on any of your guests. On the other hand, if they’re okay with it, mix up the tables so that singles are seated around them. This is the best way to make sure everyone feels not left out.

Pick a Good Wedding Location

If you want a singles table where everyone feels comfortable, you should pick a suitable wedding location. For example, a location with traffic near the dance floor. Ensure this table is not behind or at the corner. It is vital for all your guests to feel they are part of this beautiful event. With this, they’ll have the chance to interact easily with others. You can put someone in charge of the intro as well. Choose someone who knows many of your guests. This will enable them to connect with people before getting to their tables.

Do Not Seat Ex Couples together

This is very important. Regardless of how you seat your single table, never you sit any former couples on the same table or together. For some, the heightened emotions of the event might reopen old and forgotten wounds.

Do not set-up a singles table at all

It is important to note that a singles table is not always necessary. You should not feel obliged to create one if you do not feel as too.  A singles table could even stigmatize your guests.

Do not forget to assign seats. Make sure each of your guests has a seat. Also, display table numbers by using a beautiful framed print or a custom acrylic block with the table number on it. In conclusion, it is your wedding so feel free to do what you think is best for you and your guests.
