Finding your dream dress to wear at your luxury wedding is every woman’s dream. From the design, fabric, possible dress change, budget, and more, looking for the ideal dress can become a struggle; but you shouldn’t let all of these details tear you down, there are tons of stores and literally a million dresses available to choose from.

1. Set A Budget
Once you’re ready to start looking for a wedding dress the first thing you should do is determine a budget. Planning and budgeting are two of the most important things when planning a wedding and you wouldn’t want to spend all of your savings on a dress and then don’t have any money for the reception.
There are a few things to have in mind when setting a budget for your wedding dress:
- Possible alterations. You might need one or two alterations made to your dress to achieve the perfect fit and this can cost some money, so make sure to contemplate that when determining your dress budget.
- Shipping Charges. If you travel to another country or your dress is sent abroad or to another place for alterations, make sure to calculate shipping costs and fees just in case
- Steaming/Ironing. Once your gown arrives you’ll need someone to carefully steam or iron it and this also adds up to your bill.
2. Start As Soon As Possible
The earlier you start looking for a dress the better. You have several months to decide on one but you shouldn’t leave it for the very end because you might get stressed or rushed with alterations and it’s just a recipe for chaos.
Further, it takes vendors a few months to prepare the dress and the other two approximately for alterations so if you’re short on time you might need to pay extra for fast delivery.
3. Consider Other Options
There’s nothing wrong with dreaming about a certain type of dress, but sometimes it is good to consider other options as well just to have a backup plan in case the first dress turns out to be way more extensive than what you thought, it doesn’t fit as you want or other important things.
You can even split your dress budget in two and find less expensive but very nice options and have two different dresses for your luxury wedding. The most important thing is to purchase a dress you absolutely love, the advice is to have an open mind and try as many as you want without judging how they look on the hanger.
